WHO WE ARE
The Eastern Idaho Regional Solid Waste District is a joint-powers government formed by Madison, Teton, and Fremont counties to plan, finance, and operate a modern, environmentally engineered regional landfill and a network of community transfer stations.
To protect the public health and environment of eastern Idaho by providing safe, efficient, and forward-looking solid waste management services to the residents of our member counties.
A region where every pound of waste is managed responsibly, every dollar of public funding is invested transparently, and every community has reliable access to clean, well-run disposal facilities.
Stewardship of public lands and water. Transparent governance. Operational excellence. Service to every resident of the District.
GREEN INITIATIVES
Our new regional landfill is one of the most environmentally advanced facilities in the region. Built with composite liners, leachate collection, methane recovery, and full stormwater management, the facility was designed to safeguard groundwater and air quality for the long term. The new landfill is closed to the public; all residential and commercial loads must be delivered through one of our member county transfer stations.
